Duke Realty Proposes Warehouse Project In Broward

Duke Realty Corp. wants to build a warehouse complex in Pompano Beach.

On Jan. 3, the city’s Development Review Committee considered the site plan for 103,040 square feet of warehouses at 1731 N.W. 24th St. The 4.9-acre site is currently owned by a trust in the name of Lawrence Puckett, but it’s under contract to Duke Realty. It currently has a 7,801-square-foot industrial building.

The property is on the north side of Copans Road, a few blocks east of Powerline Road. It’s about five blocks west of Interstate 95.

Indianapolis-based Duke Realty owns more than 10 million square feet of industrial space in South and Central Florida.

According to CBRE’s third quarter report, Broward County has 807,339 square feet of industrial space under construction and year-to-date net absorption of 1.38 million square feet. The county vacancy rate was 3.6 percent, compared to just 2.2 percent in the Pompano Beach/Fort Lauderdale submarket.
